Being at college, an hour and a half away from home has made me realize how much I appreciate my family. I have always been very close to my family, gone to my siblings sporting events, and helped out around the house (probably while complaining). After being away from all of this I have grown to miss it. I get sad thinking that I won’t be able to watch my little brother’s baseball games or didn’t get to go to one of my little sister’s track meets. Doing dishes or laundry when I’m home to visit doesn’t feel like a chore anymore; I always want to help out around the house. My parents are like my guidebook through life. They encourage me when I’m down and give me advice when I’m lost. I swear my dad knows everything about everything. I’m not quite sure how, but always knows how to answers to my questions, how to fix things, and even how to tell when I’m lying. Every time I have a bad day I call them and somehow they make it feel better. When I’m sick the thing I want most is to be at home watching a movie and eating soup with my mama. She is the nicest person you will ever meet; I don’t know a single person who doesn’t like her. She is always thinking about others, putting other’s needs before her own. She has four kids constantly pulling her all different directions; always needing something from her. She somehow manages to comply with all of our requests. She always makes me laugh, usually not on purpose, but when she tries to shake her head with an attitude or ‘snap’ because she didn’t know that wasn’t “cool” anymore it always makes my day. I hope she has a wonderful mother’s day and truly knows how much she is appreciated and loved. She is the best mom in the entire world!
