3. Dollhouse (2)

I decided to watch the second episode of Dollhouse because although I found the first episode confusing, I was intrigued and wanted to continue watching the show. “The Target” was the name of the episode and it was far more intense than the first. Multiple times throughout the episode I found myself tensing up or gasping. At one point in the episode Echo was running from a man who was trying to chase her down and shoot her with an arrow. It reminded me of an action movie instead of a scientific show. For a minute I forgot Echo was even a doll because I was so caught up in what was happening. I enjoyed the scenes when Echo was getting chased in the woods but at many points there were flashbacks that seemed confusing. Trust was a major component in this episode. One of the flashbacks explained how Echo and her handler came to be so close to one another. There was a neurological process that Echo went through, but I think that the connection that she and her handler have is more emotional and real. He risks his life to save hers and she chooses to do the same for him. He seems like a father figure to her and genuinely cares about her wellbeing. It reminds we a lot of the relationship I have with my own father considering I’m a daddy’s girl. Also during this episode I began to notice Echo having more flashbacks to her old life before she became a doll.
